For most product apps, yes. The New Architecture removed the old asynchronous bridge, and animations can run on the UI thread. For heavy graphics or deep platform features, we write native modules — or recommend going native for that part.
Expo EAS Update ships JavaScript and asset changes directly to installed apps. Changes to native code still go through App Store and Google Play review, and the stores' rules on what an update may change still apply.
